CD Designs Blog
As you can imagine, at CD Designs we are big fans of concrete – very big fans! We have explored its ins and outs thoroughly, considering every possible use of it, and striving to create the highest quality concrete products possible for our customers. You might think it fair to say that we have seen it all.
But we are still filled with awe and amazement at the fact that concrete has even inspired so much, even great popular music. Renowned electronic duo The Pet Shop Boys released a double live album called Concrete in late 2006. This record showcases the group’s legendary performance at the Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars, London, in which they played alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra, directed by Trevor Horn. Other musical guests included Rufus Wainwright, Frances Barber and Robbie Williams of Take That.
And funny we should mention Take That: the chart topping, recently reformed boy band have chosen the Pet Shop boys to be their support act on this year’s record-breaking summer “Progress” tour starting on May 27th, which has 1.34 million ticket sales to its name, and finishes with eight sold out nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
