With the drive to be more eco-aware and environmentally-friendly, it’s amazing to see the number of creative solutions people are applying to recycling and design.
We loved these tea tin planters we came across at re-nest.com
The tea-lover who came up with the idea has used her tea leaf tins as planters for an assortment of cacti and other exotic plants, providing a really quirky and fun recycling idea, which would also look fantastic when displayed on the edge of patios of pattern imprinted concrete driveways.
Tins, wine boxes, old tin baths and colanders – all of these can be re-used and recycled to form beautiful planters which are far more visually interesting than the standard fare bought from most garden centres. Plus crucially, they reduce the waste sent to landfill and extend the life of attractive old containers you might otherwise have found no use for.
Perk up a pattern imprinted concrete driveway with a border of quirky tin planters to add colour and visual interest, or line up old tea tins with mini violas along a wall for a pretty display. Tin baths can be painted in bright enamels to provide planter centrepieces for a patio area, and look great too when combined with small solar lights to create a real garden atmosphere.
