The Holywell project took place in an extremely rural part of North Wales. The customer wanted a transformation of both the back and the front of their property with a new pattern imprinted driveway and patio. Being enthusiastic motor cyclists and having vans, the customer required a hard wearing, durable and low maintenance surface, hence their decision to choose pattern imprinted concrete.
The size of the project was immense, measuring a vast 480m2 area. There were variations in the colour of the concrete, from the back which was layed with Dove Grey, to the front which was layed in Steadman Buff. There were also variations in the pattern, with the back being printed with London Cobble, and the front being printed with Random Stone. A compass pattern was placed in the rear of the property, and an extra visual dimension was added by using acid stain to the compass to wonderful effect.
